Water Exercise for Aging Body
Exercise in the water is ideal for an ageing body. The moving and resistance to the muscles and joints is done with little stress on the skeleton. I very much enjoy the community of people which I work out with. Did I mention Ideal?
Love Maryam's Aqua Therapy!
I participate in Maryam’s Aqua Therapy that gives me a full body workout with modification moves, if necessary. I have no cartilage in my knees and it allows me to move and work out without further damage to them. I feel relaxed and more flexible after it. I notice the difference in my knees if I miss a class.
I also take a Balance and an Exercise Lite class with her. She is an excellent, caring motivator and a joy to work with.
Great Exercise Classes!
I have enrolled in numerous exercise classes with good intentions. I promise myself I will consistently go to class because exercise is good for me. But I have broken many promises. Some of my excuses for stopping are that the class is too early, too late, conflicts with some of my other activities, and many others. But Maryam’s class has stood all the tests I could come up with. She is funny, she is kind, she makes the class enjoyable with music (at times), drumming on big blowup balls, and other out of the ordinary exercises that make us fit while having a good time. I love her class and I love the improvement I see in my overall fitness. Maryam is the best. And I try not to miss it, even though it starts at 8:00a.m
Best Therapist for Injuries
I’m a 74 year old woman who works out daily, and occasionally I injure myself. Whenever I have a strain or painful muscle that does not heal quickly, I go to Maryam for therapeutic massage. She has a deep understanding of anatomy and has never failed to find and fix the issue for me. She also explains what has happened and recommends changes in routine, exercises, and stretches to prevent that injury in the future. She’s been a miracle for me, and I have recommended her to several friends who are also pleased.
Non-Weight Bearing Body Movements
Since I’ve had 2 hip replacements, an ankle replacement plus a fused ankle, I’ve searched for a fitness class that would allow me to exercise while not stressing my legs and joints. After some time in the gym I decided to try Maryam’s Aqua Fit class; she has taught me numerous non-weight bearing body movements as well as building lung capacity. Her instructions and humor have made my time in the pool fun and enjoyable.
